I did not get an attention deficit disorder test until I was in 8th grade. You see, I was one of the kids that slipped through the cracks. In some ways, I was pretty lucky. I was very smart, and good at my schoolwork, so even the few people who might have suspected ADHD were not aware that I had it. Most kids with the condition get bad grades in school and have worse behavioral problems than I did. Nonetheless, it was still pretty tough for me. I always felt a little out of control, and it seemed like people shouted at me a lot for no reason.
